“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.” – Isaiah 2:2
In the relentless hustle of life, we often find ourselves struck by heartbreak, fear, anxiety, and sorrow. We live in an era where everything seems enveloped in darkness, the future appears uncertain, and the long-awaited return of the Lord seems more distant than ever. Each morning, we awaken with tear-stained pillows, having cried through the night. Scriptures teach us that God is love, extending His peace and joy to His people. Yet, it often feels like disappointment reigns, as our lives are filled with pain, sorrow, and tears. We begin to wonder if that God we learned about still exists, especially when our experiences tell a different story. We see others who don’t even believe in God thriving and question our faith: Why hold on to a God who seems unable to help us in our trials? Are we making a mistake? Should we try something else? Should we give up on Him?
But wait, do not act hastily. Take a moment and listen. It is perfectly normal to feel as you do and voice these concerns, which is the first step toward finding answers. I have walked in your shoes, questioning God, contemplating giving up, doubting Him, and treading dangerous paths. Yet, through it all, faith and hope sustained me, and this is the message I share with you.
Despite how things may appear or how bleak the future looks, I firmly believe that all His promises will come to pass for us. Isaiah 2:1-5, particularly verse 2, offers a profound inspiration. In our times, many ‘mountains’ compete for prominence in our lives—mountains of fornication, lust, money, academics, relationships, and more. These mountains strive for dominance, but the mountain of the Lord will ultimately reign supreme. We, as believers, who keep our faith in God, will be exalted above these worldly pursuits. Why then, should we strive to ascend these transient and futile mountains when the mountain we cling to is higher and eternal?
For now, things may not seem so, but remember that the Lord never reneges on His word. One day, our mountain will rise above all others, and our pain, sorrow, and struggles will reveal their purpose. We can only find joy in that time if we maintain our faith and hope in the Redeemer and the God of the universe. It may take a while, and questions will persist. We will stumble and rise again; we may stray from the path but will return upon realizing our errors. Throughout it all, let us strive to keep our faith and hope alive until the end until our lives gain their true meaning.
I look forward to rejoicing with you and our Lord one day. In the meantime, I urge you to draw closer to God during your trials, immerse yourself in His word, pray frequently, and hold steadfast to your faith until all is fulfilled. May God richly bless you.
